As part of a major office relocation project, this client’s guests required long term stays in Manchester, close to the client’s offices.

The client sought our advice regarding the best way to accommodate their 16 guests, and we recommended that self-catering apartments would offer guests more flexibility, space and independence than standard hotel rooms, and are usually more cost-effective for longer-term stays.

Our initial apartment search in central Manchester identified a choice of possible properties, however only one could offer availability for all 8 apartments requested.

Our proposal was sent to the client, including apartment location details, negotiated apartment rates and a full costs analysis for the entire stay.

The client preferred to accommodate all guests in the one apartment building rather than splitting them, so they selected this option. Due to the size of the enquiry, we were able to further negotiate on the final pricing.

Given the high spend of the combined stay, we were also able to negotiate some extra flexibility in terms of payment and cancellation. A payment schedule was established whereby an initial deposit was paid, to be followed by weekly payments until the end of the stay.

We reviewed the booking contract and arranged for it to be signed by the client, and this was sent to the property together with a completed card authorisation form for the deposit.

Throughout the stay we continued to manage the stage payments; arranging for the VAT invoices to be sent to the client after each charge was made.
